** Your NEA102 build **

Hey guys, am I out to lunch or are prices for mags a little off in EE? I know EE is going to EE, but I picked up the XCR mags from Wanstalls for $35 not long ago, some other dealers were selling for the same price, and Reliable has the PMags for $34...what am I missing?

Pmag 20 Rnds 308 and xcr 308
Up for sale are 2 Pmag 20 rounds pinned to 5 , and 1 xcr pistol mag 10 rounds in 308 caliber, price is 110 $ shipped to majors, emt payment.
That's about $50 per used mag, which seems a bit high....

4 NIB Gen2 7.62 PMAGS
Brand new in unopened wrap 5/20 gen2 7.62 PMAGS. Sold rifle no longer need mags. $245 shipped

*** Please don't feel the need to message me and ask to price match to gen 3 PMAGS. If you don't know the value of these for previous modern hunter owners and the cost I paid don't assume I'm trying to rip you off selling at this price. I paid over $80 each for these and am taking a loss as the rifle sold. THANKS! ***
He paid $80 each for these things? Why do the Gen 2s cost more than the Gen3s?

The gen 2 Pmags supposedly feed more reliably, at least in the modern Hunter and are pretty hard to find. Are they worth 3x the price? I guess that’s up to you. As far as the XCR pistol mags there are different versions out there, some are stiffer and feed better, some have pretty weak laser engraving that causes the pistol markings to wear off. I have ASC mags that are solid with good engravings and c-products mags with weak engravings. I gave them a coat of laquer to try and keep them from wearing off. It’s kind of a crap shoot as to which version you end up with it seems.

Wow, I guess I am a little out of touch. Hope I don't run into any speed bumps with mag issues....

Finally I got her the way I like it. Come out to be exact 7lb unloaded.

Nice build, but I'm curious what components got you to 7.0 lbs. That 15" Midwest handguard is 13.5 oz with barrel nut and the Magpul ACS adds weight over the BCL stock at 14 oz. Looks like you're still running the factory barrel which is 2.8 lbs and a pretty large muzzle brake.

I swapped in a Helix 10.5 oz handguard (including nut), 9.5 oz MOE fixed stock, lightweight Fulton 18.5" 2.4 lb barrel with a tiny SLR 1.5 oz muzzle brake + 1.5 oz gas block, removed 1 oz from factory receiver extension. The only thing I haven't lightened is the factory BCG, there's a few oz there and the buffer weights are stock.

My 102 still weighs 8.0 lbs on a digital shipping scale, unloaded and without optics.

My 102 us kinda hefty when i put it on the scale but surprisingly it handles really well in offhand shooting, was ringing the 8 inch tiny gong at 100 yards all day with it last time.

@Mister Donut can take a picture with the sf fake can on the 102?

Actually, I don't have a 7.62 fake can yet, but here's my buddy's rifle with his Surefire trainer.

I thought the mounts were the same size so a 556 can should fit on the 762 muzzle device no? Isnt the 762 can just longer?

So happy you built that rifle, i had a feeling it was going to be you being the first one to do a cloneish build

Haha, I tried, the 5.56 can does not fit over the 7.62 brake, but the 7.62 can fits over the 5.56 brake, and you can crank it down.

I'll probably keep tinkering with the rifle and add or swap parts when I can, or when I find parts to be compatible, so long as the cost isn't going to get me divorced, lol! TT or S&B is supposed to be on top of a real M110 so it might be a while before that ever gets done.

Will a Gen 2 or Gen 3 upper fit on a BCL102 Gen 1 lower?

Thinking of purchasing another upper to build a 6.5 creedmore and using my original gen 1 lower.

Trying to decide on a trigger but looking for some input, leaning toward geissele but haven't heard much about what the best options are

Mostly shooting target within 100m and looking to get into hunting in the near future, never had a 2 stage but it seems to be the way to go, any suggestions?
