I shoot 9 mm very well and .40 calibre terribly. But that is just me. More practice with the .40 is obviously required so I can get over my flinch.savageone said:Also would you go 9mm or 40cal.

.40 S&W is nice if you don't own any pistols at all as it fills the gap between 9x19 and .45acp quite nicely

Really? I find mine is one of the easier slide releases to push and the mags drop free nicely. Definately try both if possible but if you are buying them blind, go for the M&P. Heck, at least you can adjust the grip size on it if that might be a problem (big hands ?)
