I have a 14.5" Armalite M15A4 and have never had any problems with reliability so I can't see how a 16" would be better. Plus the 14.5" looks better with the collapsable stock, it's more in proportion. Looks are the most important aren't they, paper targets don't know the difference between a 16 or 14.5 inch barrel velocities. If you want a short AR get a 14.5, if you want velocity and range get a 20" and throw a scope on it. My 2 cents....
