Hi all
So I have a new 7x57, Winchester mod 70 featherweight.
Awsome gun but, the old man has the exact same one, I worked up a load for him using varget which is pretty accurate.
But I ran out of Varget and can't find any either!
So using a 139 gr interlock bullet what would you suggest for a load in this gun.
Thanks
Boer

I have had good results with Win 760 and imr 4064 with that bullet in a couple of 7x57's. They usually have a long throat and you can seat that bullet out a fair ways--gains a little room in the case. If you work up you should be able to find a nice accfurate (and fast) load.

Johann; Try Reloder 19. This powder has given me top velocities at sane pressures and outstanding accuracy in my 7x57's with 140's. Norma MRP & Reloder 22 are right behind RL19. Regards, Eagleye.

Noel, I have about 3lb's of H414 so I will give that a whirl first. If that does not work I will try 4064. Thanks for all your input guys much appreciated.
Cheers
Johan

I use 49grns of W760 under 140grn bullets over a magnum primer (because of ball powder) for appx 2700 fps and 40,000psi for my milsurps.
They love it, accurate and very mild recoil in all rifles.

45 grains of IMR4320 under 140grn vullets over standard primers for appx 2900fps, works well to, but slightly more recoil and higher pressures, appx 45,000psi, closely approximates the Brazilian milspec load for their model 95s and 98s.

For modern Remingtons, Rugers, Winchester and modern European rifles, I increase the IMR4320 until the primers start to flatten or accuracy is at it's best, whichever occurs first.

Truth be known, the first two loads developing 45,000psi and less, are very accurate in all 7x57 rifles I use (11) and for the added 50-100fps from the increased loads it's not worth the time or hassle to keep the loads separated in fear of getting them in the wrong rifles (easier than you think). bearhunter

Johann, I have gotten very good results with 50 grains of H4350 under a 140 grain Nosler Partition's and 139 Hornady Interlocks. Federal LR primers were used. This load chronied in at 2825 fps. My 7x57 mountain rifle shoots 52 grains of H4350 very accurately and should break the 2900 fps mark.:)
