Your Rifle that will Shoot a Gnat at 200 yds.

Hey Guys,

Now that hunting season is near over, thought I'd see what hunting rifle you have that shoots unexpectedly perfect! I bought my first centerfire in 2008 - it was an older Remington M700 in .243. When I started reloading, I found a combo that would punch a 3" group at 450yds with a 14x scope. With that success, I bought two more, with the 22-250 shooting just as well.

What is the "one" that you will never part with - the amazing sporter weight barrelled hunting rifle that rivals the target rifles accuracy but at a fractional cost?
 
I just bought a FN winchester M70 in 270 and the first time I fired it I had a 5 shot group at 200 yds that I could cover with a toonie with Federal blue box. On the other hand Winchester grey box grouped terrible even at 100 yds. When I get my handloads worked up maybe I can even better.
 
I have a savage 25 in .204 I've tweaked a bit that will put 3 into a quarter at 200 if I do my part. With the 32grain sierras. Haven't tried the Bergers yet which are rumored to be more accurate.

Edit. That's a coin not a quarter inch. And it could probably do 5 I've never really tried.
 
I've got a mossberg 715T that hits gnats at 450 yards. Granted, the bugs are so thick in the bush right now you can't breathe for choking, but still.

What do I win?

20-odd years ago I bought a Browning A-Bolt in .280 Remington. With no mods done, no bedding, no trigger work, nothing, and wearing a cheap Bushnell 3-9X40 scope, it will shoot one-inch groups at 200 yards if I do my part. It was unexpectedly accurate and has been my go-to for two decades. I buy, enjoy, and sell other guns, but if I have to keep one centrefire, that's the one.
 
My Stevens 200 in .300 win mag is just stupid accurate; basically an honest, consistent 5/8" shooter, with 180's @ 3165 fps.

All I did was lighten up the adjustable trigger.

It's a "never sell" firearm for sure.
 
All of my guns will shoot a gnat at two hundred yards....however, I may have been aiming at something else.
 
Funny, "gnat" causing confusion. A gnat is a small insect - the idea is to hypothetically aim at a gnat that lands on your target at 200 yds. My 22-250 M700 with wood stock will do dime size for 5 shots at 200 yds. Dime size, hmmm...lets say a gnat is 1/10th of a dime.

Hmmm, that small eh............how in the hell do you get it on a hook?
