your suggestions?

Well it sounds to me like "280 Ackley " is suggesting a semi-auto that can be easily converted ! lots of luck Joe
 
i've shot around 40 deer with a 243, if you can shoot good i reccomend it. if you don't shoot so straight get a 7-08, 270 or 308.

my favorite hunting rifle is my custom mauser 3006. my 243's are my second favorite.
 
270wsm, has wicked long range ballistics, and will surely drop anything that you point it at.....can't say the recoil will be as nice as a .243 or .308 though.

Maybe its cause You didn't bother reading the thread......the last thing Im looking for is a magnum!
 
If you want something diferent and are interested in reloading and can find one at a good price try a 257 Roberts. In a newer action the reloads are far superior to even the plus P's of factory loads. I have a .243, .308, and a .222 I guess I just like the history of the .257 and it does the job.
