Walther KKJ's are fantastic rifles, I've got one that my Dad bought but in the late 60's and I've never shot another 22lr that is so accurate! However, when I've seen them for sale they are normally in the $700 to $1000 range. If it is the magazine fed version make sure it has the mag, they are costly and hard to find.

Walther did indeed make a great rifle, they were equal to the Anschutz, both well machined and the overall fit, finish and accuracy was about the same. The one you have pictured appears to be a KKJ 22LR sporter with target sights added, the KKJ type action has been around since the 1930's and is well proven. As far as value goes, in 1967 I bought a new KKJ HO, .22 Hornet with double set triggers for $142.00, it was about $20.00 more than the .22LR or .22 Mag versions at that time. As far as todays prices go I have seen the KKJ sporters run from about $450 to $850, the Hornets go for a lot more, but condition is everything.

I currently have two of the KKJ Sporters... one with target sights and one with the ladder type rear sight... great rifles. I've also had the single shot Target model with the adjustable trigger. I'd be surprised if one ever sold in the $1500 range... as mentioned value would be in the $500-$800 range depending on condition.

The Walther in the picture indeed is a KKJ, with magazine and cross bolt safety, they are excellent rifles, I prefer them to the Anschutz 64 action rifles.

I bought one in the early 90s for $250 although its not in as good condition as the one in the picture, $1400 is way out of line, $600-$750 is more likely.

You looking to replace your 40X already ? KKJs are nice little rifles. The condition of the one in the pics should put it close to the top of the range expressed by others. I sold one recently with nicer wood but in not quite as good condition and no rear sight for $500.

Depends on the condition and what it comes with.

The bottom one is the KKJ with the 5 round magazine. Mine came with both sites, all of the inserts and the tool. Plus it was in fantastic condition (safe queen for sure). It would be at the higher end of the scale. But still nowhere near $1500. :onCrack:

Tradex had a Running boar model (Same action KKJ-T). This is a heavy barrel version with a thumbhole stock that also adjusts

I should add that they are very nice rimfires. You can sometimes find them for a real deal since everyone knows what an Annie is but many don't know about the Walther rifles.

I just bought my first Walther KKJ-MA ,wich is a 22mag sporter with tangent type sights for $600 like 95%cond., In the US these go for $900 and better, they seem to be more valued down south?
This is a rifle that will stay with me til I hit the poor house or die, wich ever comes first! Real great German workmanship and very accurate!
For those with repeaters mags for the KKJ series are still available threw the US agent for Walther, but run $150-$200 a piece!, depending on calibre.
These guns in my eye are way nicer than any ANNIE model 64 rifle( but ugly but accurate!) The ANNIE 54 sporter have the same workmanship as the Walthers, but cost alot more MULA$$$!
Hope you end up with one of these fine rifles, Dale Z!
