Your thoughts on "kwik-clips"

Is there anyone else who thinks that the "kwik-clip" mag is a piece of crap??
I have heard nothing but bad about these and the ones I have seen never work properly and many times the mag falls right out.:mad: I would not put one on my Remington if you gave it to me.:rolleyes:
 
I used one for quite some time and the only reason I quit using them was my OAL exceeded the klip capacity and I wanted my bullets close to the land.I never had any trouble whats so ever.RB
 
Ive done quite a few conversions for guys over the years on blind mortice rifles and such, and some straight across floor plates.
There are nnot always a drop in affair, but with tuning are quite good.
I fixed one for a friend that was in a wreck.
Straightened it out, reshaped and welded the trigger guard, stuck it into a different stock, it's all good!

I have one in my Remington 700 for close to 20 years with no problems at all.Also picked up a spare magazine.Other than the trigger guard area scratching easily probably the best money I spent on rifle upgrades.

Actually they are very popular.Between my hunting partners and I we own 6 of them.My partners own five factory rifles,and I had a custom built using a mcmillan stock and the factory detachable mag system.They are far better made and more reliable than the Kwik Klip.
 
I have a Kwik-clip on my customized Rem. 700. I think it works great.:) Only thing I find a little annoying is because the clip is a flush fit, it doesn't just fall out when I push the button when it is empty and it is hard to grab hold of.. If it is full then the spring pressure from the top round on the bolt pops it down when the button is pushed. Other than this little annoyance it works great and is more useful than the old hinged floor plate.:)
 
I have a Kwik-klip conversion on my Rem 700 280 Mountain Rifle that has always worked perfectly with the 3 4 round mags that I have for it.

I purchased 2 of the 10 round mags to try out several years ago and had nothing but problems with them.
 
Guys I just bought my first Remington brand new today.....

I picked up a 700 SPS SS and was looking for it in DM but it only comes in hinged floor plate on the Stainless steel.

All my previous guns have been floor plate I thought I would like to have a clip, and rather than spending the $250 more on a BDL I thought I would go with the SPS and then put a kwik clip on after....

So far mixed reviews......I am curious as too how much one would cost?

I have had two units for twenty years and two more for at least 15 years. All of them work very well. You never have the feeding problems with these that you sometimes have with the factor unit. In theory I like the factory unit better cause you can load when the clip is in the gun. However I have spoken to too many who say the factory units are not reliable feeders.

Just keep your hinged floorplate. I far prefer them to a DM, anyway.:)
