Just looking for some feed back from those who actually own a Nornico M14/305 style rifle. There seems to be lots on the EE with prices all over the spectrum. Been thinking about buying one but not sure if I should part with my cash without hearing first hand what others think about it. Accuracy, overall quality, etc etc..

Your thoughts are much appreciated.

sorry for the inside toungspeak

It would be your wisest firearms purchase - a $2000 gun fer 425 sheckels - how can you go wrong ?

Don't hesitate man, they are shooters and so worth the money. I think the Garand has a lot more personality, but even a used Garand is almost double the price and you don't have to reload to shoot the M14.
Come to think of it, I really need one!

i could take it or leave it, i got a good deal from my friend on it but it's kinda heavy, and i don't like the sights. and if you mount a scope it's a nightmare with cheekweld.

As a gun, period... they ok. Still prefer my Mauser or AR but at least it's non-R.

As a $400 bargain... they great if you can afford to feed 'em!

Love em. Bought 2 TAC PACKS a couple of yrs ago from Marstar. And before that had bought a few crates of Norinco 308 when they were cheap and available. Changed the flash hider over to a Springfield comp and can't believe the diff. Shoot lots and don't worry about reloading.

Tied with my 870 Marine Magnum for my favourite gun. Not pretty mind you, but basically, they're all the fun of a 10/22 with about thirty times the muzzle energy. Hard to go wrong with that.

And they're lots of fun to tweak and pimp, and even more to shoot.

right now it's the only m14 stryle i can fire- the other 3 are safe queens- and you guys complaining about feeding them, wait till you get 4 of the things running at once with unplugged mags( there WAS a time)- even with reloads, it still added up enough to make sense of buying a dillon and a keg of powder( that's 25 pounds , kiddies) - the average trip to the range had 7-10 mags- 6 on the dragbag, 1 in the rifle, and a spare in case you had mag trouble- that's 140 rounds

I've bought my 3rd Norinco-Pllinko. Hey, I ain't proud to tell people about my purchase of the M14... I've got 2 kids in College! :D

Same reason I can't (ever, ever) buy/ride a Harley.... Got 2 kids in College otherwise I coulda bought 2 HD's for me and my wife.

Okay, back to the M14 discussion.... Don't sink a lot of money into them. They are the most fun to tweak and tighten up. The purchase of USGI Glass stocks is another hobby in itself. Then you have the competition end of thngs, just ask ton45II on this forum. He kicks as with his box stock (even the Chu Wood stock POS :( ) M14, he busted over 500 pts. last summer.

Next Service Rifle match in Ottawa, there are gonna be at least 2 M14s on the firing line! Yeah baby! Don't get me wrong, I love M1A's, but I just cannot afford to buy one. I feel like I'm back in the day when both my boys were in diapers and I was a newbstick young teacher (20 years ago). I could only afford ONE rifle and that was an M14 (Israeli Surplus- Thanks my Hebrew brothers :D ), that even came with converted auto parts all welded up, but still lots of cool factor for all of $ 400 plus taxes from Milarm and Lever Arms.

Peace be to journey,
Barney

lol i see someone said they dont like the sights, and its a nightmare for cheek weld with a scope .. apeture ( spelling ) sights and stock designed in line for them.. its a main battle rifle, not a DMR ..
and as for heavy.. need to do more :jerkit: buff up those arms n shoulders lol.. and its main battle rifle! its heavy ! lol

as for not liking the sights, what's not to like?- granted, the dials are a little different, but off hand, the no 4 lee enfield, 5 lee enfield, the fn( in all its configs) the thompson, bar, garand, carbine, , m14, and m16 all use the peep and post- as for the poor cheek weld- it's well documented as to how to fix that- mine was all of 37c worth of hot water pipe insulation, right on the spine of the back- it's a chu stock, so screwing into it harms no one

depends on what you do with it. personally, i would get a garand.

i think a RC K98k is a better gun for the money.
