your top 3 favorite callibers for hunting

I'd have to say my .307 winchester big bore, my .300 win mag, and my Pedersoli billy dixon 32" barrelled 45-70. I didn't put my pure fun gun in there (.22 hornet - just for paper).
I wish this was my favorite 15 guns.

For me this is easy:1st) 50/90 Sharps(black powder)
2nd) 45/100 Sharps(black powder)
3rd) 45/70 (smokeless)
I consider anything smaller is for varmints or target work, for the most serious work, I'll take the 50/90 everytime!

Favourite cartridges? Hmm...
#1) 45/70 for sure, killed all my big game with it, in fact I can't bring myself to trust those speedy little pills from the under .40 crowd :) :)

#2) .223 even though I don't currently own one I think it is one best choices for varminting, from a cost/useability standpoint

#3) .22lr I burn more rounds in my 10/22 and 39A than all my other guns

I own a 7mm-08, 30-06, 22-250 and .308 (haven't fired it yet)

My favorites and why.....

7mm-08 because it is a bit smaller than .308, a bit flatter shooting and has forced me to reload, and most importantnly, I wanted something different than the more common calibers.

22-250 because I could shoot a coyote in the eye at 100 yds! Mind you I still get excited when I squeeze the trigger, so not quite ready to try this!

30-30.... I don't own one right now, but I have and they are just cool.

If I ever make it on a Moose hunt, I might add 30-06 to that list, mind you the 7mm-08 should suffice.
