your top 3 favorite callibers for hunting

.204 Ruger.... inexpensive to shoot, deadly accurate, super flat and fast and great on all varmints including coyotes.
270WSSM... The ultimate short action caliber, an efficient user friendly magnum for everything from coyotes to moose, elk and bear.
.338 Federal... nuff said.

7MM STW - for that long distance feeling
338 Win Mag - elk and grizzly bears (bison too!)
358 Win - saddlegun and brush busting BLR

My favorite are what all canadians have

.22LR for small game (Rabbits, Squirrel, Grouse)
.303 British for large game (Deer, Moose, Bear)
12 ga for birds (Ducks, Geese, Grouse, Pheasant)

.22lr (shot more rabbits with it than anything else)
.303 Brit (have to say this one, 'cause I got my first [and only:redface:] deer with it)
6.5 X 55 (just bought it, so I guess I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't say I liked it)

Just rifle cartridges ?

For practicality:
.22LR, 30-06, .375 H&H

For entertainment:
.204 Ruger, 6mm BR, .45-70,

22LR, 12 guage, 303 British, in that order .... Over here anyway.
I call it the "farmer package" seems that about every other farmer has the above combination, few have something more exotic as a "big bore" rifle, but it's almost always some sort of sporterised milsurp rifle.
