Your Top Find of 2007 - Post it Here

Well, it finally came this week from the Rock Island Arsenal Auction.
The ultra rare spy pistol owned by the top German spy of WW2 and presented to him by Adolf Hitler. "Tastefully" camoflaged, enough to fool the most discriminating enemy. It's in 7.92mm Kurz and has the optional Banana clip and folding shoulder stock (not shown). It sure puts those 007 Pistols to shame. Stay tuned as I'll be field stripping it while I have ice cream and chocolate syrup later tonight.

Mine was a VERY minty matching numbers No4 Mk1* Long Branch I picked up from a fellow Gunnutz'er in a trade deal. Unbelievable shape, with sling, bayonet and oil/lube container in the buttstock. It shoots as good as it looks.

Had a couple of good purchases this year but no outstanding ones. Probably my best one was the Finnish m27 Mosin-Nagant.

Plus I got put on to a dealer in the US that was happy to export "antique" Finnish m39 Mosins!

my best

my best finding for this year is a Mossin nagat m44 from Sir manufactured in 1944 and is looking like brand new

I picked up a brit made but C/l\ marked no4mk1T early in the year, and that could have been the find of the year, but then this came along:

I still have to go out and pick it up...we'll see what the weather is in late January.

Nice looking Bofors. Is it WW2 dated? Live or dewat? Private sale, or did you get the one at CS?

It is a Canadian built (Otis elevator) WW2 model. It origionally came from CS about a year back to the guy who did a very detailed restoration. Once he finished the project, he sold it to me so he could persue another project. It was never listed on the CS site; the ones they listed were swedish built, used by the finns and did not interest me. If you price it per pound, it is one of the cheapest milsurps out there.
My biggest hangup now is the transportation. Any quotes from truckers came in much higher than either of us expected, so I am going to make the trip out to the east coast to pick it up myself.

It ain't much, but it's my first and ONLY find of 2007... or any other year for that matter.
I've had guns all my life, but they've allways been of the "black" variety or hunting rifles. Never had a Milsurp before.
Here she is in all her glory.. My one, my only.... No. 5 Jungle Carbine. Matching numbers, manufactured in 44 as best as I can tell. She's a bit worn on that side of the receiver......
