Thats why pics like this make a big difference!;) :D

Exactly! I am glad a few people will take the time to post pics and take the time to learn how to do it properly. Like I said, I wont be asking the ones who dont post pics, I am sick of certain sellers getting pissed because you asked to see what they had for sale, and then when you see the item you decide it is not what you were looking for. Some folks seem to think when pics are asked for the item is automaticly sold.

, anyone checked the price of oil lately?

Just got the furnace oil tank topped up yesterday. It will be Kraft dinner for a while.

What do most gun stores add to guns brought in on consignment?

Pics are key for sure, and not just pics of the good side but detailed shots of any possible issues.

MadDog is that a good bore or a bad bore?:D

Most of the guns I have bought on the EE have been well priced and by that I mean I could sell them back on the EE in less then a week with a minimal price reduction.

I like it when the seller lists what he paid (to much) for each accessory and totals it all up so the buyer can see that he's saving the tax plus $50.00:eek:

To me the accessories are all gravy and a bonus for buying used guns.

Darryl, to me that ad had me confused a touch, me being a Savage guy it took a minute or two to figure out which gun was for sale. Then you say it has stainless rings which knocked it down to two of the guns and then the kicker was that the rifle was blued so I finally figured it out.:D

Also you said it has some minor handling marks, take a pic of them, that way if it sells it doesn't get to the buyers house and he freaks out cause theres a gash running down the side of it.;)

Can-down, not sure whether thats a good or a bad bore but anyone thats worried about the bore has the pic right there to make their own decision, personally I have a few of those old 99's with the exact same bore and shoot like a dream so I'm gonna have to go with a good bore on that pic!;)

BTW Darryl, I think your sig line by Doug says it all!

If a guy can't bother to post pics, it's unlikely that I want to buy it form him..Other than that..

Well, f you don't liek th epricce, but want the gun, make an offer. If it's rejected, move on.

Life is too short to worry about how much the other guy wants for his bubba SMLE.:)

I sure as hell wouldn't raise the going rate on a 99 at say $500 to $700 because it's got $10 O/U mounts and a $25 scope on it.

Could you please tell me where I can pick up a bushnell for $25? :D :p

There are some good deals on the EE and some dreamers, the repeated BTT's are humurous if theres no action after one BTT a price reduction is in order, I have sold several on the site and generally have several pm's within minutes. I don't care for negotiating much and generally if purchasing buy under the sellers terms, if the price is out to lunch I don't inquire, if the price is worth your interest why nickel and dime the guy. Have had many good experiences buying selling and trading, with only a couple minor disappointments.

Some guys are out to lunch on price, but I just ignore them. What really bugs me is when a pic is posted, I do 4-5 back and forth pm's and then look at the picture thinking the stock looks a little short and when i ask he tells me it's been cut down 1 inch. It's hard to tell that from a [picture, but I was kind of p/o'd over that one. We had talked about the rifle which was an unusual gun for over a week with no mention of the 12.5 LOP.

Northern Boater, 2 posts and 54 sales?????

Some guys frown on that thinking that your just using the site for your own gain but the way I see it is that if you ever post an 1899 in 32-40 at a respectible price then I for one am glad that your here!:D

My goodness Joe, what a little hornet's nest you have stirred up with this one--a perfect weekend's entertainment. I think that the picture thing is highly over rated. There are very few pictures posted that really give good information on the firearm.

If someone is intersted I send pics if I have them--where the piss-off is that in my experience 80% of those who ask for pics do not have the courtesy to acknowledge that they received them or to indicate that they are not interested in dealing.

Why all the uproar over the prices--if you don't like the price--make an offer and it will or will not be accepted--end of storey.

I dont have any more pics at work, but the handling marks are so minor, it would be real hard to take a good pic of em... (and sadly, they're all from me, the gun was perfect when I got it) Goddamn benchshooting:D
Put a few scratches under the buttstock...
Pics say a thousand words... I bought the gun off of gunnutz on a trade, and the pics of the stock looked like it was crappy, and cracked at the wrist back to the buttstock... So, i bought it anyway, and bought all the stuff to do up the stock (as in paint and fix) When the guy got to my house, I couldnt believe it, the stock was beautiful. and other than cleaning it, I havent touched it... THe crack turned out to be figureing in the stock on the bolt side...
I was just curious to see how goddamn particular you are :D :D :D :D
thanks buddy. :dancingbanana:

Some people seem reluctant to talk about any issues the gun may have and feel if the question has not been asked then they have no responsibility to provide the information.....

I go out of my way to inform people of every minor issue that a used item might have before someone has to ask.

To me things like rust and visible damage should be noted in the sales post but unforuantely you have to ask all the obvious questions or risk being dissapointed by someone who is willing to keep quiet on known problems.
To be fair some people just don't seem to notice minor details and don't detail clean inspect their guns before selling.

I am not a good salesman....

I do a quick check on the EE's but if the price is not reasonable I don't bother looking any further

I'm not going to make a lower offer just to try to save a few bucks, If you want $150 for your bubba enfield that's fine I'm not going to offer $75 because that's what its worth.

and as for the I bought it for $1000 new so its listed at $950 and lucky you, you don't have to pay tax.

Well guess what prices have dropped and I can get something similar new for $800

If you want it to sell be reasonable, I'm not going to waste my time or yours dickering around with offers and counter offers.

Its not a perfect system but it works.

Sometimes pictures will spark an interest in a firearm or something else that I normally would have absolutely no interest in(it has happened before), no pics posted I will carry on to the next post. A good write up, description, price and pics will sure help out a sale IMO.

That's for sure! Cell phones and dark places don't make for good pictures.

Pick a good backdrop and shine some light on the gun (without reflections)

You've gotta love the blurry, dark ones:D

I respect the sellers who are willing to take back a gun (unfired) if the buyer is not happy with the described condition when the package arrives.
