Another thing that pisses me off is how some people dont know how to edit thier posts, then the next day they update with new info and get a free bump or BTT. How is that fair to the people who actually follow the rules?

Edit: Levi beat me to it.....

This is being dealt with as soon as it's seen by a mod, even I who have no powers in the EE always send a p.m. to Houligan or any other EE mod and point it out, screw that, I don't care if they're new, read the rules.

With a trader rating of 68 I would hardly call them new ;)

I always thought a 3 day inspection period with right of return was accepted gun trading practice! Guess I better start clarifying. If a guy wont give you that then I would'nt even bother thinking about it. At the same time this return option should never ever be abused as a tool for renegotiateing the price.
As for prices I agree with the buy it or leave sediments above because If a seller is asking too much that is an indication that they may be off base with something else as well. Granted it works the other way there are a few guys on this board who I would pay more to for a rifle that they gave a thumbs up to.
I know there is no flaming allowed here but has anyone noticed the regional disparity in pricing in the EE? I can guess the price of a rem 700 just from the province of origin.LOL. I can also guess the province of origin of a tire kicker from the questions asked about a rifle.LOL.

A good example is a nice rifle with quality optics I sold for the price of the optics. I got about 20 simultaneous PMs. 3 I'll take its all from the same province, 10 low ball offers and or silly questions from a different province and 3 appreciated sorry about your luck PMs from various provinces!

Just got the furnace oil tank topped up yesterday. It will be Kraft dinner for a while.

What do most gun stores add to guns brought in on consignment?
I had a oil furnace so I feel your pain! :runaway:

What bothers me in EE are dead beat buyers. Example I had an AR upper listed for sale. I was contacted by a member with I'll take it message. It was late Novemeber and buyer asked me to hold the item till he gets more cash late Dec. We agreed on a date to send the funds over. Well the date went by and nothing. He didn't even have the decency to respond.

If you can't afford to buy don't set up a deal

Rant off

I got an "I'll take it" two days ago, still haven't heard from the guy.

Free beer huh Jim? Wish I wass in your part of the country, I just got back from the beer store!

so if there is a blue book value, maybe it can be stickyed so that it can be referenced by byers/sellers (like myself) who don't know what a gun is actually worth. I have 3 guns i want to sell but don't know what to ask.

I wish the blue book of gun values was posted somewhere on the net but for now all we can do is pay attention to what other guys are getting for them.

Send me a p.m. on the 3 guns and maybe I can help you out on an idea of where to start.

didnt you ask about load info? :D
nope sling belongs to Win94 I didnt even see the sling in the pic, thanks for pointing that out dave

Yeah I asked about load info...posting stuff without details is just asking to get your PM box filled.....

How could you not see the sling ?

You did ask for a critique...not from me...but...I have a few hours to kill...thought I'd stir it up a bit.....:)

To those who see a person is "online" and fells that their PM was ignored, just because the green button says their on CGN, that doesn't meanthat they are in front of the computer.

Well, it certainly does if you check their profile and see they are checking out various areas on the site. It even has a cool feature of showing the time of their last activity. But, as a mod, you already knew that. Of course the "other clue" that they are in fact "on the site" when the green light is on is when they are posting to threads. Computer can't do that on it's own, can it? :p

The latest craze is BTT when a question is asked about the item. EDITPlease:rolleyes:
I think its unfair to others out there ? :D

Good point Levi, that's another peeve of mine, too.

But here's an example of how/when the edit feature is abused....

Say buddy has a post for three items for sale. He's following the rules and does a 7 day BTT. Fair enough. But just after that buddy sells two of the items, which then are marked, thru the edit feature as "SPF".

But buddy really wants to move that third item and sees that it's Friday. It would be good to have that item up at the top of the page for the weekend but if he follows the 7 day rule it will be Monday before he can BTT again. So what to do?

Buddy edits his ad removing item #3 so that the post now just reads that there were two items & they are both "SPF". He then makes a new ad for the third item. It then looks like it was just posted. Voila "instant" BTT. There's one of those slick "edit jobs" on the EE posted today. ;)

Pretty slick, eh? Hope the mods that are going to review/revamp "the rules" are taking notes, here. :D

Hey Hussar don't be afraid to post a 'price check' thread right here and ask what board members think they're worth either. I've done it myself a few times and they can turn in to fun threads some times :)

I've got a 3 to 4 year old blue book and there's ton of information in them all right. But they're average north american prices and don't always fit with reality up here, especially for some older rifles which as Mad Dog points out are through the roof in the us :runaway:

No, I appreciate it Dave, but I was looking at the thumbs, and the sleeping bag behind them was brown...

Whats worse than bad adds is bad questions from buyers asking to ship the ammo in the same box as the rifle... "Its only a problem if you get caught"
I've had two potential buyers tell me the same thing in the last three hours...
Sorry, i've got thousands of dollars in guns, and Im not jeopardizing it for the sake of 50 bucks, or a gunsale...
Im not hurting for cash, Im hurting for space...:D
