today i decided to head out and try and get a few bunnies but all i got was really cold, wet and pissed off:rolleyes:

started out with a parking ticket on my truck when i went to leave home:mad:

then as i was getting my gear ready on the side of the road at the hunting location, a school bus goes flying by and i get covered in slush.

about 30 minutes into the hunt i go to cross a creek thats about 12" deep. you guessed it, face first right in. theres was a root under the snow i didnt see. of course the only spot wheres its high enough for my boot to get caught under is where i step:rolleyes: of course my 870 just had to get filled up with mud...

then i get back to my truck and realize i forgot my bed liners (for people that wet the bed = great for seat protection;) ) so i have to sit on my hunting coat and get it wet and muddy.

not over yet...

as i go to pull out the rear end starts going sideways. stuck and nobody would stop to give me a tow so i had to scratch up gravel with my boot and move it with my hands.

didnt see a single rabbit either. ill be back out tommorow so hopefully the bad luck wont be around again.

it could of been worse .you could of been at work:p never a bad day hunting as long as all my partners come out of the bush safe&sound

true, on normal days. but this week i was sopose to be in windsor working and theres alot of clubs and strip joints there. my boss pays for everything but dances when its just me and him there ;)

Some days are diamonds - some days are stones ... but a day out hunting is fresh air, great exercise and always a learning experience.

Frustrating at times - yes, wet days - many, days that you swore you born with two left feet - getting more often .....

but I try not to rate 'em - just enjoy 'em.:)

about 30 years ago, heading downriver with a friend in his ( I was told!)canoe.

The dam thing had a crack that opened up, amidships, busted , flipped , anmd we ended up in a very fast , cold , river.
I came up with thee gasline wrapped around me.
Cut that off with my Russel belt knife, and made it to shore, but lost everything, including a good rifle, camping gear, and a shotgun ( all my stuff).
he lost a canoe that was not his.

recovered the canoe later with the aid of a friend's boat, and the gas can later in the fall, but nothing else.

This year deer hunting for me. If there was a cloud in the sky. They wouldn't leave camp. If we were hunting and a cloud appeared. They went back to camp. When we were in camp. I did 75%+ of the cooking and cleaning. I don't mind doing more than my share as most of the guys are older. But it still is a holiday for me too! Worst time hunting in my life. Need a few more camp members. Anybody interested?

Dave.

... yup - some hunting trips are hard enough challenge - without having to take a mandatory bag limit of HillBillies - just to be allowed to go home!:runaway:

No banjos, nut luckily my friend, "Stoned Bob" was home!

We went down right after the channel , just upstream from Claire Pedan's place.

My buddy was renting the place from Claire, and i saw his canoes , so knew he was home.
I few choicee words (and a scream or two!), and he popped his head out of the door.
Never saw that guy move so fast!:D
he came down, picked us up, and ran us back to the Snye, where I immediatly ran up to Sid mackay's place.
Sid and I ran his boat down the river where we picked up the canoe by Clarke creek, upside down ,hung up on the gravel bar by the motor.
