Youth guns: short barrel and short LOP

Any thoughts on a tikka compact 243 for kids. LOP is 12,5’’, would that be too long since my kids are rather small ?

Clearly you didn’t raise any dummies, I feel a pump gun is the quintessential shotgun. Part of the fun is racking the slide and the unmistakable sound it makes.
