In my first attempt to load for a new and young shooter, I found a good load
25-06 Rem, 100 grain Sierra GameKing, 37.6 grs. H4895, WLR primer ~ 2854 fps
it was 88% of maximum with H4895
recoil was pretty mild, the 15 yr old new shooter said it wasnt that uncomfortable at all. Hopefully if he gets a buck within 100 yards (his range limitation) the load will work well.
anyone else ever try the reduced youth loads on hodgdon.com ?
