What about a Cooey tube magazine bolt action with a modified stock on it?

Other than that, I can't think of anything that would take .22 shorts in a rifle, there are some nice .22 short pistols out there but I haven't seen any rifles other than single shot or tube fed that take them

Are there box magazines that can handle shorts? Never seen one so I'm thinking a tube magazine is your best bet.

On a side note, why?? Shorts and long are harder to find then LR so why not get a 22lr and shoot subsonic or cci quiet ammo ?

Marlin XT-22YR

The literature used to say it shot Long, LR and Shorts. Not sure if that meant from the mag or single shot only.

Winchester 69 & 69A's you can stack'im'oww you wish.
The photo above is a Winchester Model 131 and I've loded
up the mag with shorts, long and long rifles in no partickular
order and they feed/eject well.

Easy enough to to cut down a stock to reduce LOP for a kid....spacers could be added later( I believe some 'youth' shotguns are made like this)

Old Mossbergs have box magazines that accommodate both short and LR 22 shells
