I noticed that K98 refurbed in Yugo (preduzece 1944) are in better condition than Soviet refurb, mine even have all matching numbers. Why Soviet refurb k98 are more expensive than Yugo refurb?

The receivers not being scrubbed and still having their original markings makes the Russian ones more attractive. Romanian contract vz24s are half the price of k98s. The vz24s are in much better condition, with a finer finish as far as the machining goes.

Form/Fit/Function the Yugo M48 hands down is the best of the series. The Yugo K98's are really nice firearms and I carried one for a couple of moose hunts. Most of them were re-barrelled and were well maintained. They are very accurate firearms. As for the Russian captures they are also decent rifles but were not as well maintained accuracy can be very good or very poor depending on fit of the rifle, the Yugo rifles having been refurbished well and maintained will likely function better on average. In short I do not know why the Russian models tend to sell for more except a matter of availability and the certain audience that wants a German marked gun.

I would take the RC to scratch the itch of having the German markings but as a shooter id take the Yugo. It all depends what you want. I consider the RC and Yugo to be in the same ball park for price. I wouldn't pay more than 700 for one. The current market prices are rising due to demand. Less RC coming into the country compare to all the recent yugos. I remember 8 years ago i was picking up the average RC for 350-400$. Yugo k98k's, m24/47, m48, and the vz 24 going for 300-450 at gun shows depending on condition.
