Yugo M48 cleaning rod.... Why are they so elusive?

Anyone know where i can find one of these? I was considering just getting a piece of brass rod and threading the end of it to put in the hole just for looks. Seems there are more rifles around then cleaning rods.
 
Most cleaning rods are hard to find if your rifle doesn't already have one. The reason being is many people remove them for shooting, and lose them, trash them, or otherwise dispose of them. The few cleaning rods that come up for sale also tend to cost a arm and a leg.
 
Well. I decided to just make one. I have one that i think is from a Turk mauser. looks the same on the end but is an inch too long. I cut it off, Bench grinder to step the end and then tapped new threads in it. Works like a charm. Simple solution. Took 10 minutes.
 
I purchased a 5 pack from a website called landser outfitters. It doesn't look like they have them in the 14.5" length anymore. I sold the 4 i didn't need (bought 5 as shipping was the same as 1), and i got about my money back. Took awhile. There didnt seem to be much of a demand for them.
