Yugo M48 Mauser Questions

So I have just picked up a mint M48 and have a couple of questions on it.

1) Is there an english language manual available somewhere to help me out with cleaning / disassembly / reassembly without wrecking anything? It is in fantastic condition and I want to keep it that way for many years to come.

2) It has the 2 stage military trigger, which isn't too bad, but it can be better. A friend has a Timney trigger for the Mauser 98 action, can I switch the trigger group out without altering the rifle? If I can knock out a couple of pins and get an excellent trigger without permanent alteration, I would like to do it. But only if I can leave everything else all original.

If you check the timney website or on forums you'll probably discover an answer, as I've never really knoticed anyone mention putting an after market trigger on an M48... now that I think about it though, it's a good idea...
 
Mitchell's Mausers put out an English manual. Go to Wikipedia and type in "Yugo Mauser" and at the bottom under external links there's one to a manual.

The Timney site just said it may require inletting to fit. My friend has it already and wants to replace it on his rifle, so the price is right. I will take a look and see how it all fits after I get the action out of the stock.

Any recommendations on a Mauser gunsmith in Calgary? If it is not a major job to improve the feel I may just go that way and not even try the Timney. The 2 stage trigger is actually not bad, if it was smoother and had a cleaner break with a bit less force it would be very acceptable.

It is definitely staying original, I bought it as an un-issued pristine piece in order to have a great condition shooter to enjoy and pass on to my kids one day. No bubba allowed in my house!:D With any luck it will get plenty of exercise this summer at the service rifle meets at the Sheppard Range.

Nice guns. Congrats on your new toy. It's a mil-surp, so no printed manual that I know of. Just Google Yugo M48 amd there is lots of info with pics out there. :)

Don't know about the trigger though. I like mine for being a mil-surp and not a commercial production rifle. The other users might be able to answer that better.
