Hack away, the Yugo Mauser has almost zero historical value. Same as the M96 Swedes. People here would make you believe any military rifle is valuable. The truth is that the Yugo M48's only value, is it's usefulness to you.
You're a bad person!

Many thanks to Desert Fox and JNA very helpful info!Plan to go with the M48A,and the Zastava 98-probably in .30-06Sprg.No intention of offending the purists.Have left grandpa,s P17 and Lee enfield No.4 MK 1 as is.Like the idea of getting two rifles for the price of one!![]()

Good on ya!
Let us know how the Zastava 98 works out for you!
Cheers!![]()
all these rifles will increase in value there were only 3000 m48 BO rifles made they arent making anymore,i have a m48 bo,24/47,and a m 48A they are beautiful rifles and well made i would not d and t the rifle but it yours to do with as you wish. The scout mount and long eye releife scope is the way to go as it dose not alter the rifle permantly, just my 2 cents worth
