Took a mismatched 98 Preduzece 44 8mm out today and cranked off 20 rounds. New R-P brass, 10 gr. Unique, 175 gr Lee water-quenched WW GC.
Put 5 on paper at about 40 yards to see where it was shooting, then rang a 100 yd. gong 15 times, 5 rested, 5 standing, 5 kneeling. I was impressed with the load, the rifle, and with my shooting! The gong is about 10"x14" I think.
I scored a 10lb. cardboard canister of Unique for $50 at a gun show this Spring.
I love shooting those old rifles with light loads. Next on the list is a SVW MB 98 made while the Germans were still fighting. One of the last made!
Gotta love reloading!
