Yugo semi-auto

WOODBEEF;
I apologize, but get ready, this week we put the Mausers up on our site and notify the folks on our list.

JADD, beautiful pics!

I'm excited for mine. That's a heck of a lot of Cosmoline, almost looks like more than what normally comes in the Chinese SKS's, which I've always thought was a ton. Were the internals as greasy as the externals seem to be? Going to be a fun removal process, and I'm not even being sarcastic.

Enjoy it!

Hey JADD, what is the letter in the serial number on the left side of the receiver? Here is the chart to show what year it is. I'm working on a Yugo sticky right now.

letters

The letter is S-. The preservative is very sticky unlike grease. By the chart this one would be an early 80's. Cold war relic.
Returned m59, magwell was corroded.

It arrived! I missed it but I'll be off to the post office in about an hour to pick her up. :D

Pictures to follow, methinks. I'll also be sure to let fenceline know when it was made according to the chart he posted. Since I got an "as new" rifle, which I take to mean "unissued" I'm thinking it'll be from the 80's or so, considering I'm sure the Yugoslavians were using something else by the 1980's despite still making the 59/66's, so the ones made then may have been unissued.

However, I could also be talking out my ass. I'll find out if I'm right soon. :D

My date got bumped back to tomorrow :( Hopefully Canada Post is really on the ball and it comes today anyway. Can't wait to get her and see when it was made. Hopefully it will be 1989 for the last year of production and really low numbers made!!!

I'll post when I get it.

Ian

Here it is. ####ty pictures, but she's pretty. :)

The serial number starts with Z, so it's a 1986 production.

Here's how it looked upon opening the case:

And unwrapped:

I love it! Now, time to de-cosmoline...

Ok, Canada Post came through for a change and delivered it early!!! L465### serial number puts this "As New 59/66" from 1975. Very stoked to get it cleaned up.

The Yugo Mausers just went on the website today and I had to get an "As New" M48 as well. DOE!!!

Cheers,

Ian

I had ordered two and both arrived today! :D
Andurp: Mine were packaged exactly like yours. The T-shirt was a nice surprise! Thanks Marstar.

OK... does anyone have any tips on getting the cosmoline off? What's the best way to do it?

Plan is to keep one stock-as-is... and the other I plan to turn tactical!:HR:

Cheers!
