The conditions are listed as being different. They have graded the "cheaper" ones as very good, and the more expensive ones "as new". What that means I don't know. Perhaps all matching vs not? Maybe John could chime in and clarify the rating standards they use.

Pretty sure that means as they came off of the assembly line. Can't call them new as they are probably made many years ago in the 60's or 70's. As new would mean "New, Old Stock" IMHO

I would take that money and buy a cz 858 or russian/chinese sks + Surplus Ammo. Are the Yugo's that much better then the other's? Almost $350 better. "STOP SMELLING YOUR OWN FARTS".lol.
 
^^^ Yugos are the smallest produced SKS type. Out of the Russians, Chinese and Yugos I've handled, my 59/66 is by far built better than any other. Well built and hard to find makes ofor a higher dollar. Yes its an SKS, but not all SKS carbines are equal.

Don't buy 1 type, buy 1 of them all. Or your #### might fall off. And then all you'll have left is you own farts to smell. Haha

But you can have a used CZ 4 that price !!! I don't tell you its not worth it but its a little bit too much 4 me right now !!! I'm happy to have bought my M48a in the last batch !!! :D

Compared to the 1983 M59/66 in the EE for $575 + shipping, and the M59 for $445 + shipping?

Russian's are everywhere. Chinese are everywhere. If you want a shooter go grab one of them. If you got your heart set on a Yugo this is pretty much the going rate these days.

When this got posted up I was hoping they would be closer to the old prices. I just don't see it happening, not as it took almost a year to ship them here and the fact they are starting to get even more scarce.

Yugo supply is low, market gets expensive. That or I bought too early and the Yugo + Chinese SKS for $75 more is coming hahaha. :popCorn:
 
I'm not going to argue supply and demand....if thats what John's asking, so be it. We all complain when EE prices go full retard, i guess someone had to one-up it.

I have every gun you've mentioned here.

Two Russian SKS's (Including an uncommon Tula No-Date), two Chinese SKS's and an 858 as well as more surplus than I know what to do with. I want a Yugo to round out my collection and because I think they're very interesting rifles, and I'm willing to pay.

Ya, I can appreciate that. I just bought a tt-33 for double what my brother got his for awhile back.He picked up acouple for $99 or $89. Its a time of economical inflation's for sure. NOW EVERYONE HAS TO BURY THE SURPLUS AMMO THEY HAVE SAVED UP IN THEIR BASEMENTS AND BUY UP THE STORE'S STOCK BEFORE THE PRICES GO UP OR WORSE.

Yes, we must make sure our dicks stay firmly attached to our bodies. After the M59/66 I'll probably be looking at ordering a few crates of surplus. One can never have enough!
 
Was there ever any mention of what approximately the years of production these are going to be?

Wonder if they are chrome lined? 1970 or later I think...

Yugos, both styles, are NOT chrome lined. Letter designations assigned to year of manufacture on the 59/66 style. Standby, I'll post the chart.


edit... CHART!!!

B and C at the top of the chart are they M59 series. Everything after that is the M59/66 series. 1967 and 1968 were the M59/66, the 1969 to 1985 were the M59/66A1 and the 1986 to 1989 were the M59/66B1 (I believe the A and B difference is the Phosphorus vs Tritrium variation, but not 100% sure).

It will be interesting to see what dates come out of this lot. Had to order one anyway!!! I will post it up when I get it. Hope it's from 1989!!! :)

I kind of hope mine isn't chrome lined, I clean the hell out of my rifles and preserve them well anyway. I'm interested to see how the rifle shoots without chrome lining.

In case it's not obvious, I ordered the "As New" 59/66. :D

I am very excited! One can never have enough SKS's.
 
Yep, I had to get an "as new" 59/66 as well. I figure they may seem a bit high in price now, but in 10 years people will probably remember this batch and wish they had "Nutted up" for that price!

I wonder if this is the same kind of reaction that people were giving all of those $195.00 M1 Garands when they were available fresh off of the boat from Denmark? I know these aren't Garands, but I am thinking that these rarer versions of the SKS will go up significantly when the stocking dealers are all out of the Russians and Chinese versions.

If not, and I paid a couple of hundred dollars more than I wanted to for a very cool little carbine, then what the hell. In a few years that won't even matter any more to me...
