Yugo SKS price question.

It is a Yugo sks, but it has no grenade launcher assembly, looks very similar to Russian. It has all matching numbers, very nice spotless birch stock, and mint cond. non-chrome bore. So i was wondering if these were rare at all, and how much do they go for...?

Well, I have one and I think it is superior to any Chinese or Russian that I've owned in term of fit and finish. The only downside is that the bore is not chrome lined so if shooting corrosive ammo clean well and soon.

I wouldn't take less than $300 for mine, nah... I wouldn't let it go for that, I like it too much.
 
It's a Yugo M59 from the sound of things. If the bolt has the serial number EP'd it not worth as much as one that's pantographed. They're a hard sell for much over $250-300 shipped these days with all the newer imports of Russian and Chinese SKSs.
 
The grenade launcher attachment is really a useless appendage plus that model will have the gas tube valve (which can give problems) and ladder sight for the launcher, so it's good yours doesn't have one.

My son-in-law has one with the grenade launcher and I believe the metal work is better than any russian or chinese SKS I have seen. The stock is made of teak which is a heavy wood that is rot resistant and probably stronger than arctic birch.
 
I just got a no-frills(no cleaning kit or extras) m59 for under $300 shipped.
Refurb, electro-stencilled, ect. It's a shooter.
