Were any Yugoslavian M1924s imported into Canada? Anyone here on CGN own one? Any idea of what one might cost say in very good condition? I'm asking about a prewar M1924 Mauser not the postwar M24/47 rebuilds. Thanks.

I have a 1924 via a trade, or should I say I have an action; and she now has a mint 7x57 barrel on her and a new sporter stock waiting. Look to give it to one of my daughters as a nice 'ladies' rifle

i have one 1925 so early is one , very well made and crisp rifle , shoots really well too

I'm importing a pre WW2 one with the Kingdom of Yugoslavia crest. But beneath the crest it only says Model 1924 in the Cyrillic alphabet. Where do you find the date of manufacture on a M1924?

Do you mind if I asked you how much you paid and when did you buy it?

Thanks.

it was $300 and there is a couple of faint marks above the serial number
and 26 not 25 as previously thought ( the exe wife has it now) so figured that was year of manufacture . also across the top of barrel it says ceska zobrovka(spelling) .and vz24 on side of reciever.
it was drilled and tapped for scope when i bought it and has bent bold handle .

That's not a yugo M1924, that's a czech VZ24 - different rifle.

Yugo rifles aren't usually marked with a mfgr date. Branko Bogdanovich's book gives serial ranges by year though ;)

I don't have the rifle yet as I'm importing it from the USA but I learned that its a 1935 manufacture according to the folks on the Military Mausers forum on Gunboards. I'll post the seller's pics of the M1924 (if he's OK with it). The date of manufacture depends upon the serial number and the Cyrillic script on the left side of the receiver (either Kingdom of the Croats, Serbs and Slovenes or Kingdom of Yugoslavia). Mine is the later.

For anyone that interested here are a few pics of the 1935 Yugoslavian M1924 Mauser short rifle that I am importing. Pics are copyright of Collectible Firearms and Edged Weapons.

Its going to be about three months before its in my hands. I'm looking for the correct prewar bayonet to go with it: M24 long in the white. Yugoslavian preferred but will consider FN made.

Thanks for looking.
