+1 maintenance of PT6 can be a nigthmare ....
I don't know what hull insurance rates are any more, but back when I was flying I believe it was around 3% of hull value per year - if you had the minimum hours required on floats. So on a $500,000 a/c that would be $15,000 per year. Of course you could just fly without that coverage.
At cruise speed of 100-105mph and Otter on floats would probably burn about 35 gallons of fuel per hour. i don't know how much AV gas runs at the dock any more, but I suspect it is over $1.50/L, so you are looking at +$200/hr just in fuel at cruise speeds. Don't forget to add start-up, run-up, taxi, take-off and climb to the total for a trip!
