So far so good, held zero after disassembly. Built like a tank, hard steel and a tod heavy but beats the scout types by a mile. I can see this is far superior to the Chinese ones.

It’s actually made by a Czech firm called Perun Arms and required some filing and fitting.

In order to save weight I got a used Vortex 3MOA Venom reflex and so far it fits the bill.

Chinese SKS is a Cabela’s I got on sale, cut and crowned to 18.6 inches thanks to YouTube vids and parts I had laying around.

Good info I was wondering about those..
How do those wings work on the sides of the optic?

No problem at all actually. An insurance policy for your budget ish reflex.

It’s made by Rex reflex. I could see an issue with a scout set up tho.

Similar to the ones made by site sponsor Spectre Ballistics. Mag is Tapco.
I bought thru SRR and they ship here. Ak style is good.

Circle-10-AK-SOMAK-SKS.jpg

https://www.circle10ak.com/product/circle-10-ak-somak-for-sks-rifles/

Circle 10 has a different style of mount.

no back up sights on sks completely ruins sks idea
unless you are just specifically creating fun only plinking rifle

in regards to sks-d, if you want to accept ak mags that ak style quick release for duck beak mags will work only for those, AK mags engage a bit differently (higher), also you would need to get a front lip and cut duck beak off the mag, then it will be kind of sks-d style, but not sks d
for sks d, you will need to do a major mod including special mag release different from what shown above, shave bolt, remove BHO etc etc

maybe someone has experience with adapting that ak style release to ak mags in sks...

There is a trick with these mounts to keeping zero especially with disassembly.

Remove the 4 bolts and use a drill to make dimples in the receiver, bolts will lock in and not move in hard use. Then lock tight the two bolts on one side so it will always reseat back to "zero when you remove and reinstall it
