Hi, ive put the hand on a good shape 10 ga. SXS shotguns and i would like to know its value.
I don t know the model but the maker is Zambala Hermanos
The gun was engraved and in good shape.
The problem with older (pre - steel shot era) 10 gauges is that in Canada today there is no commercially available ammo for them. These guns are tightly choked, and running steel shot through them will bulge the barrels in the choke area and separate the barrels from the rib. Kent does nor make tungsten matrix shells in 10 gauge, and I have been unable to locate bismuth shells in 10 gauge in Canada, although they are available in the U.S. This means hand loading your own lead or bismuth shells.
Because of the ammo problem, these guns are not worth a lot in todays market even though they can be quite attractive. Prices between $250 and $500 are the norm, with the majority being at the lower end of the range.
If you can make or otherwise procure 10 gauge ammo with soft shot (remember, no lead for waterfowl) then these guns represent superb value, and the big bore has no equal as a goose gun.
