Zastava bolt Action rifles #### club ....

I have a 799 in 22 Hornet that my son gave me one Christmas or birthday or both........don't remember, anyway they most definitely are a single stack detachable magazine fed rifle. The feature that surprised me the most was the excellent adjustable trigger on the 799 and the Zastavas, I just wish they'd hire some better co-ordinated baboons to do their checkering...............
Did you or do you shoot it?

Chalk another one up to Chuck Hawks..... All listed at hinged floor plate.....

I really liked the mag system on the z5 .22lr I had....... If the hornet mag is as good this would be a good pick up to you dugasgunner.....

Seen all the great pics and thought it would be good to pick one up too. I've only done a preliminary free float and will need some ammo to test the open sights before I get some glass for the "Wagner".

Thought I'd add that the pics are not that great. I'll try again after the glass is added.

Yep, I have shot it a lot, as it is my only hornet. It hated me for the first 5 years I owned it and shot patterns with every load I tried. Seeing as it was a gift from the boy I just didn't feel right about flogging it so I tore it all down and bedded and floated it. Now it will put most any load into 2" at 100 mtrs and will shoot 40 gn V-max into 1 moa with L'il gun and Rem 6 1/2s. Thanks to whoever it was that informed me that Rem made the 6 1/2s expressly for the hornet, cause they do work.
I also have a M85 Steutzen in 7.62X39 and another in 7X57. The 7X57 in a WDM Bell commemorative, and is a little better done than most. One of these days........ya, ya I know.......one of these dark winter evenings I am going to break out my checkering tools and fix up the checkering on both these rifles. Yes, I know how to checker and have done several rifles, it's just not my favorite job. I may be better at it now as I have more patience now that I'm getting older and have a better sense of when to put the tool down and walk away for a day or two.

Took some pics of my Zastavas for you guys to peruse..........

"ONE OF THESE DAYS" I have plans to shadow line the cheekpiece and put a set of set triggers (which I bought a couple years ago) on the 7X57 and refinish the stock and give it some color other than baby sh!t yellow......

Here's a full stock Zastava in 30-06. It's at least 25 years old. It was used on brown bear, roe deer, wolf, wild boar and possibly wild goat or sheep.

I'll have to get some pics of the family..
.have a Z5, M70, and M85. Maybe get a couple of them out for a shoot this weekend and snap some pics.

M70 7x57 out for it's first run...shot great, extraction sucked and it's going to need some work.

Excellent rifles! (including Remington 798 / 799 which are Zastava barreled actions in Remington laminate stocks). Here's my custom 416 Rem. Mag. that was converted from 375 H&H Magnum using a 416 RM Sako barrel -

300gr Barnes Banded Solids, Federal Nickle Brass, Fed 215 primers & H4895 @ 100m.

Shoots as well as I need it to. It also shoots Speer 235 & 285 grainers quite well.

a little rimfire contribution to the thread, one of my favourite rifles, got this in an out of business sale, wish I knew enough at the time to buy a few of them

Here are mine: At the current moment I have 4: left to Right, Yugoslavian made 8x57 with 23.6 inch barrel, 2 middle ones 8x57's, and last one 7x64. I have a 6.5x55, 30-06, and 9.3x62 on order from tradex. At the moment they are actually one of my favorite rifles. Mauser 98 actions in chamberings I like, with irons. For me they are work horses, not worried in using them properly, a real tool. Not a show piece.

Grouping was from my 9,3x62 that I sold, and that I regret.

This was from my Full stock, 8x57 I once had and sold. No bedding done on that one. Shot like this straight out of the box.

This is from my current loadings in the 3rd 8x57, with the ammo holder on it. 196 Norma Plasticpoint @ 2550fps.

Sellor and belliot 8x57 196 factory ammo @ 2550 fps.
