$575 price is tentative, barring unforseen surprises.

The CZ-99 is approved for IPSC Production. Wondering if there is a market for these pistols in Canada? Have some coming, maybe too many, maybe not enough, please excuse the market research. Certainly better known in Europe than here at the moment. Daly was selling these in the US for $589USD until Zastava went with Remington to distribute their rifles and they severed their contacts.

The good, bad and the ugly, experiences welcome, thoughts, etc. The floor is open, please fire away.

Personally, fired one of these years ago in a place far away, and wanted it, but couldn't pull it off at the time.

Dealers, please contact Walter at 709-691-6232 if you would like to discuss terms or reserve some units. Incentives and quantity breaks available.

From Modernfirearms.net
Type: Double Action

Weight: 860 g empty; 1145 g loaded with ammunition
Length: 190 mm
Barrel length: 108 mm

The CZ-99 pistol (also sometimes referred to as CZ99) was developed by the former Crvena Zastava arms factory from former Yugoslavia, now Zastava Arms Co from Serbia and Montenegro. The CZ-99 was developed as a service pistol, and is also available for export sales. The copies of this pistols were briefly manufactured in Israel and South Africa. In general, CZ-99 appears to be a good combat pistol, well made, relatively inexpensive and with decent ergonomics.
The CZ-99 is apparently patterned after famous SIG-Sauer P226 pistol, but with several modifications. The CZ-99 is a short recoil operated, locked breech pistol. Barrel is locked to the slide by single large lug, which engages the ejection port. The Browning-type cam system is used to lock and unlock the barrel from the slide. Frame is made from aluminum alloy, slide is stamped from sheet steel, with separate steel breech block insert, fixed by the cross pin. Double action trigger system, with external hammer, has an automatic firing pin safety, and ambidextrous decocker levers, on both sides of the grip frame. The decocker levers also operate the slide stop, reducing the number of manual controls. Pistol is also equipped with loaded chamber indicator. Standard version of CZ-99 has no manual safeties, but there also is a version with manual safety, mounted on the slide. This version is designated as a CZ-99S. Compact variant of the basic pistol, with shortened barrel and slide, is designated as CZ-99 Compact. Standard sights are of fixed variety, with white dot inserts, and both sights are dovetailed into the slide.

I didin't vote;

I was looking for one in 9mm a while ago (so I guess I am interested), but recently bought a pistol so probably wouldn't buy one in the next 6 month...

would like to see some reviews first for sure.

btw how much would the extra mags cost?

Action Pics! :)

I've got the mag prices at the shop, will post them later, but they're not expensive. That price includes 2 mags, cleaning brush, and case. Also can use Beretta 92 mags with an extra hole drilled.

Were these not all steel when sold here a few years ago? Looks like alloy frame....not that it matters as SIG is alloy as well and they hold up well, just thought I recall them being all steel at one point.

I think that uncertain reliability, lack of spare parts, and availability of the CZ-75 at the same price point would be the biggest obstacles for the commercial success of this gun in Canada. On the flip side, it might appeal to the folks who can't or don't want to spend an extra couple of hundred bucks on a real Sig.

I have wanted one for a few years now and at 575 would buy a new one in a heartbeat! I would only buy one in 9mm though, I have no use for the .40S&W round, unless it came with a spare barrel for 357SIG...

$425+ is a couple hundgred? It's more like half the P226s price.

But I am curious about holster availabilaty; this gun falls in size between P226 and P225 so probably neither Sig holster would fit.

I'm sure it would fit just fine in a 226 holster. My 220 fits fine in a 226 holster.

Have you considered special pricing for one of each?:D
These are well made, hard wearing Sig copies, worthy of the design.
At the stated price, I predict good sales. If you rounded down, you'd have (or should have) a feeding frenzy.;)

On the other hand it seems an affordable firearm good enough to take to a war.

Line 2
However, I know your point of view.

PS: You wrote a one-liner and........edited it. :D

yeah maybe one in 9mm in stainless. Hows the build quality? (ive owned a CZ85 in the past). What sort of trigger weight is it? ANy idea on price in stainless and how many mags it comes with?

I don't think they are made by the same CZ that makes the CZ75/85's, made in former Yugoslovia.
Kinda cool that the decocker is also the slide stop, one less thing to have to operate.

awesome pistol

They are well-built and robust, to the NTH degree.

I have one; have had it since new. It has never had a fail to fire and has been fed everything from junk rounds to excellent quaility stuff.

They fit well in the hand, have ambi-mag release and decocker and a loaded-chamber indicator.

I will try and buy a .40 and one more in 9MM, funds willing.

And don't confuse it with the CZ-85 or other CZ's, as stated in a prior post.
This is hardcore Yugoslav (Serb) stuff, not Czeska built.
