Got out to the range yesterday and was testing out some loads in the Swede. Looking very promising.

Mine is sum MOA rifle. Fit and finish is good. I love it. For that price you can get only (Mr Plastic) from most manufacturers

44grs of RL-22 must be giving you very pedestrian velocities. Just out of curiosity, have you chronoed them? I am just developing loads for my Voere with the same 120gr TTSX, but I started at 46gr of RL-22, which gives me close to 2,800fps. I haven't checked accuracy at 100m, yet.

I have been humming and hawing about one of these rifles. How do you find that synthetic stock?

Nice shooting by the way.
The synthetic stocks on these are typical cheaper plastic stocks. They are fairly rigid and the rifles shoot well in them so they work but aren't anything fancy. I do like the raised grip panels on them as they fit my hands well and provide a good grip when wet or cold. The recoil pad is as hard as a hens face but I've heard they are identical to a Remington pad so aftermarket should fit right on. I'm not sure on which model of Remington or if that is even true but might be worth looking into if you don't like the factory pad.

Yes, they are both very mild loads. Just at the book starting points. Will be playing with other bullets as well. Next up will be some 140gr. Just wanted to see how she shoots.

Got it! Just for your information, I am also working with the Hornady 140gr SST and it's giving me very impressive accuracy, much better than the TTSX in my 1:8" (or 1:7,87") barrel.

Hi 444shooter,

Sorry for the long wait. I haven't had much time to shoot or write, lately. :(

I am using only RL-22 with those two bullets. I have tried IMR-7828, H-4895 and H-4350 in the past, albeit with other bullets, but I didn't like the results I got with the latter two powders. Although I am pretty sure I had a brass problem and not a powder problem.

I have gotten 2,945 fps with the 120gr TTSX with only so-so accuracy and 2,759 fps with the 140gr SST with very nice accuracy and no pressure signs. I am tempted to push it to 3,000fps and 2,800fps with the respective bullets, but I will have to slow down the testing for now. I will run out of powder for my .300Wby hunting loads, if I don't. I just can't let that happen with moose and deer seasons so close now. :)

It's a very crappy situation that we can't seem to find popular powders anywhere. I just want loads as close as possible to my velocity objectives, so that I can then start playing with COL and maybe some neck turning to try to improve accuracy. But for that I will need much more powder than what I have left.
