Hello,
I have a slightly used 9mm Tokarev-style pistol that I picked up yesterday.
When I rack the slide and pull the trigger the hammer only occasionally releases. I think the culprit may be the little piece that my pen is pointing to in the photograph.
What does the little thingy do? Is seems as though it should be in the upward position in order for the pistol to fire and mine seems to drop into the lowered position. Case in point: if I turn the gun upside down and whack the end of the grip the hammer will work again. (As though I have whacked the thingy into an upward position by turning the gun over.)
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
