Zastava M85 scope base or picatinny rail?

Tried on mine. No problem to put 5 rounds in the magazine.

But the +1 is hard because the 5th one on the top is almost impossible to be pushed down a little bit to get the +1 go through.

Here is a pic of the final prototype .... let me know if you want it posted again in another thread.

I will try to get some nicer pics once the run has been completed.

Any update on arrival???

What kind of accuracy are you guys seeing with these? I know the SKS leaves a lot to be desired at 100M. Are these any better shooting the same Milsurp ammo?

A quick interwebz research revealed the CZ version of this can be quite accurate with good ammo but the Zastavas don't seem to garner the same reputation.

A couple posts back, someone mentioned that weaver #'s 71a and 23 are the right ones for this rifle. This is true to some, but not all of the Zastava M-85 rifles. I bought one of these rifles when they where on sale too. I want to put a scope on it, but I can't find a rear base that fits. Weaver 23 has the right contour for the receiver, but the holes are spaced too far apart. Seems that Zastava uses two different hole spacings. I'm sure mine is not the only rifle to leave the factory like this. So, does anyone else have this issue? And if you've found a rear base that fits, please let us know which one! My rifle shoots great with the open sights, but I bought this so that I could scope it. Thanks for any info anyone can give. Good shooting, Toni. ps, the weaver 71a fits properly on the front.

Rail looks nice,,but looks like it will be a bit of a pain to load the rounds,,if anyone gets on of these,,please let us know how they work out,,,i went the 2 piece route myself,,but would consider a rail if it works out well,

These look great! My front 71A is still stuck in limbo...will be till August or so...If someone has a 71A they want to offload...or maybe I should get the rail. Hmm...

Thanks,
Cal.

If I could make a recommendation for Canada Ammo;

Put a link to this rail on the same page as the rifles that they are made for.
I had to search pretty hard to find it on your website.

just installing base now. Had to use 5/32 bit to drill out rail for screws to pass through to screw into reciever. Then I used blue locktite. Most times I don't...
I used low Burris rings with a Vortex Diamondback 2x7x35 Bolt clears.
Loading rounds seems to work fine. If you want fast mag changes buy a differant gun.
Centre line of rail is not true to centre line of barrel. Zastava Q+C I've had that on a Savage also. But it is workable
So far get the rail when you buy the gun....
