Really nice !!
Is it for sale? Hahaha

I bought one a while back in 6.5mm X 55 SE. The inletting was terrible. I must have shot (wasted) 75 rds of different powders & bullets trying to figure out why my target looked like it was hit with buck shot. Groups really tightened up after some wood removal. Took 2 bucks with it in 2020. For the lefties, I have a Remington BDL Custom Deluxe LH in .308Win I bought in 1988 which is my regular hunting rifle. All the rest are RH and I shoot them just as well as the LH. Doesn't make a difference to me.

Have a Zastava in 458 WM . Brand new and never cost me much. Have a raccoon problem here and it's heavy enough to handle them. They are what they are a cheaper Model 98 Mauser but for the price are a decent rifle.

A few years back I bought off a local buy and sell a gorgeous mannlicher stock Zastava for a steal of $400, Got home cleaned it up and had it sold online in a matter of 3 hrs for $1250.. to this day I wish I kept it but needed the money at that point.

Is a Zastava a better rifle then a model 700? Not in a million years of guiding.

I'd be willing to debate that. With the recent rem 700s and quality control and issues we've been seeing I'd rather take a zastava. Wouldn't want a bolt handle falling off or the safety make the rifle go off. Especially if your in the back country guiding where you don't have access to gun smith's.

I'm sure the older rem 700s are light years ahead of what we see today. At the end of the day, to each their own.

I’ll take the risk of bolt handle ripping off. A trigger freezing up. Non-extraction. And any other isolated instance involving a model 700 before I hunt with a Serbian piece of junk.

And ill take the Serbian piece of junk with a one piece forged bolt, positive extraction, and controlled feed before taking a Rem 700. The rem 700 would be my last choice to take with me when i guide. Zastava still wouldn't be my first choice but id take that above the m700.

If its occasional weekend hunts a 700 would do but when your away in the bush for almost a month and away from civilization I sure wouldn't want to rely on it.

I’d rather shoulder a 2x4 then a Serb crf. But if it fell in the sand it might be a smoother action.

Hahahaha......you must have had a bad one from the sounds of things. The few I have like my 7x64 and 8mm-06 would probably change your mind in regards to smoothness.

Like I said earlier, to each their own. You enjoy your rem 700s and I enjoy European CRF rifles.

You wanted to debate it so thanks for the debate. My model 700s have in fact killed, even maimed, hundreds all right. Of critters. Never a problem in the field.

Proudly made in the USA. Again!
