If you buy one try to buy at least one extra mag, they are hard to find and will only get more scarce as years pass.
Any more shooting reviews? These look nice for under $300 but I haven't heard anything about them being tackdrivers...
Still trying different ammo in mine along with tuning the mags. The forward feed lips dig into the bullet during feeding making it difficult to chamber the round. I filed the feed lips back so they simply guide the bullet rather than engrave it. This eliminated the random flyers I was getting. So far off a bipod/rear bag prone @ 50 yds Ive had some sub 1" groups with Rem subsonics. I'll be switching to my front bag as Im not all that experienced with a bipod. The trigger on mine is horrible but they look easy to tune. With a bag up front and the trigger worked down to 2 or 3 lbs I expect 1/2" to 3/4" with the subs. FWIW the Remington model 5 only comes with 1 mag, at least mine did. Gagnon Sports has the 9 rders for $34.99. Total was around $90 shipped for 2 mags. The only plastic is the buttplate, everything else is nicely machined and deep blued. Craftsmanship on these rifles is outstanding.
I walked out of SAIL with one today unexpectedly...well not THAT unexpectedlyAll they had was .22mag which was what I was after anyway, and the first one he brought out had the nicest walnut I have ever seen AND it's on a $299 rifle. Didn't know it came with 2 mags, so picked up an extra anyway...only $20. I'm a sucker for unique wood, and this one has a beautiful dark walnut grain on one side, and a much lighter grain on the other...you can see where they meet on the top of the butt and bottom of the forestock, awesome wood. I'll get some picks up on the weekend out in the sun. The checkering is kind of poorly done, but you have to look pretty close to see that...feels good and grippy anyway. Buttplate and follower are plastic, but that seems to be it.
Looks like there are 2 machined lugs in the rail that will take weaver rings maybe? Haven't tried the scope on it yet....pile of sticky oil preservative on these things I don't feel like cleaning up tonight
Hope it shoots as good as it looks.
I have the Rem model 5 in a 22 mag and mine loves CCI Maxi mag ammo, and tried numerous kinds to get this figured out, about the only ammo I haven't shot yet is the newer Vmax 30gr. FS
Not sure about the inspiration, but I sincerely doubt that Zastava Arms would be inspired by Norc lol Well, maybe the QBZ-95 but you gotta give'em the thumbs up for that one. Zastava Arms has been around since 1853 and have been a legit arms producer with some pretty interesting models. Yes, they did produce some firearms under licence, like the M70 (slightly modified AK, very well received), M57 (TT variant) and PAP (SKS, but no chrome, beautiful stock, grenade launcher, much more accurate). They also had some of their own designs like the M21 (while it's an AK "variant", it's been redesigned and modernized, can stand shoulder to shoulder with Galil) and EZ9 (one of the top 9mm pistols out there). So what is this thing?
Is it inspired by CZ, or inspired by Norinco, or what?
