I was shooting my new M70A pistol and suddenly the slide fell off the frame.

The clip that holds the slide lock pin in place had popped off; the pin fell out and released the slide.

I reinstalled the parts and noted that the clip installs by finger pressure, unlike the TT-33 which is much tighter. On recoil the clip pops forward, releasing the pin.

So I reversed the direction of the clip, so that recoil pushes it on; not off.

I finished a fair amount of shooting and it stayed put.

If the TT-33 tends to pop the clip, this might be the fix. My TTs have never had a problem.

Never had that problem but thanks for the heads up. The M70A's can be pretty rough around the edges. Be aware that if you do extended shooting with it, the front sight may come out because of heat expansion. Dimpled it and loctite it in and its ticking no problem.

I have had the same problem with mine, will try that fix thanks . My Zastava shoots about 12 -18 inches low at 20 yards, doesn't come out of the safe much.
