Zb-26 Czech Light Machine Gun for sale at The Bay

Well, the old timers here tell stories of No.1s and No.4s sold in barrels at the hardware and department stores of old. Maybe with Zellers coming back, the Bay is returning to a few of its old habits?

Yes 8mm Mauser. I believe. Wonder if you can #### it or anything like that? Just though it was an interesting piece and happy to see Hudson Bay carrying stuff like this.

The military museum I volunteer at arranged a meeting with our local RCMP firerarms officer. According to him its not a replica unless there is a possibility that it could be converted to actually fire. A model of a gun is just that - a model and not a replica.

Interesting, people here were under the impression that plastic 3d printed 1:1 scale models of real firearms are totally illegal. They obviously cant fire anything but can look the part

I would say the good officer may want to do some further study on the definition of what is considered a replica firearm and not do that favourite thing the RCMP like doing at making up their own laws on the fly. Museums get a bit of a pass, but if push came to shove I bet that same officer would be the first to shove folks under the bus for having a replica.

It appears that as long as you owned them before 1998 you may possess replica firearms legally. Another example of how inconsistent and confusing our laws are

Although replica firearms are prohibited, individuals may keep those they owned on December 1, 1998. You don't need a licence to possess them, and they do not need to be registered.
