Zeiss conquest .....never again...............

Seriously, I know Zeiss makes good glass and I knew few old timer buddies likes to used them on their bench rest rifles,....I think that is what its good for...out in the hunting fields...Bushnell Elite6500 and Leupold VX3 kicksA$$. Those scopes are made for Canadian extreme weather hunting conditions....but, some of mine girl friends like Zeiss!.

It sounds like you should let your girl friends do your thinking for you.:p

No one ever said that? Its a simple fact that cheap Chinese crap fails FAR more often than quality stuff.

It is also a simple fact that most Chinese made scopes are designed for less recoil like air soft and rim fires, not for high power center fire rifles, but a Ziess scope $$$$fail???!. I wouldn't called Chinese made crap anymore.[/QUOTE]

Validate your claim. Show us where in the hack job scope literature that comes with Chinese wares it indicates their optics are for rimfire or air rifle use only?? Bushnell ranks up there with cheap crap. I know, you and others think their 6500 line is tops, but the reality is, it's not. Decent sure, but you're paying far too much for the cheap garbage they push. Please enlighten us all as to the many "quality" brands of Chinese optics in use by known entities, not plinkers who shoot from the bench.

And please validate where you come to this conclusion? Just what "tests" or criteria do Bushnell or Leupold take into account that Zeiss or any other high end scope maker does not?

Oh the days of rifles having back up irons. I'm also guilty of taking along a back-up rifle if I'm hunting more than a couples hours from home.

Here's the smart answer. Run a rifle with irons or suffer the consequences.

It sucks that this happened to you but even the best fail eventually. We had a brand new Schmidt and Bender that failed after 2 shots with the Macmillan Tac-50. But the rest were just fine. Go figure.

That really sucks! is there no other way for you to take aim? Worst case scenario you can find a bushnell banner at the nearest store and sight in with it..

Unfortunate for the op.

Problems like this and my own observations when comparing the Zeiss models are why I would only go with the german made scopes like their Diavari line.

I've owned Elite 4000's, 4200's and the new Elites, no problems. Dumbazz me left a soft cased rifled on the roof of my truck, only to have it roll off and tumble at 80km/h. That scope was still zeroed and problem free. I also have some older Legend 2-7X32 that have with-stood heavy abuse and don't miss a beat, clearity is un-real for the price.

problem is....my girl friends don't hunt....they like plinking at the range, bench rest style with their pink 22LR with their Zeiss scope....it sounds like you have something in common....maybe a pink Zeiss?:)

No pink rifles or scopes for me, and I do actually hunt, be it backpacking in the mountains, on horseback, by boat, or on foot, be it day after day of rain, or -30, I have done my share of each. Just what type of hunting do you do, that is so tough on scopes?

Thanks a lot everybody for your support,
Also your offer via PM.
I will send this scope for warranty Monday,
Until then, friend of mine give me this scope to finalize my season.
Its a Leupold Mark 4, 8.5-25x50mm.
this scope is big, heavy and the mount too high for me, BUT !
I never been so accurate, it took 2 rounds to bring it on paper.
after that; 3 shot group .
I Think I`m in love with this scope!
I draw a blue line to be few inch up at 100 yard, this blue line will give me a perfect zero at 200 yards.
At least tonight I was back hunting, Big, Huge tracks, but no venison yet....

You'll have trouble with anything other than supported and/or closer than 50 yards with 8.5x power as your minimum, but its better than nothing.

Not so. Some yes, but many are made for centerfire, Mueller for instance.
