Zeiss Conquest or Vortex Viper 3x9x40????

Looking good,Sir. Perfect size too. Enjoy her.

I am. It's a shame pictures really don't do the stock justice. I had the guy at my local gun store say it was the nicest walnut stock he'd ever seen.
The package; M70 and Conquest 3x9 handle beautifully. I really could not be happier with the way it came together.
Thanks again Woodbeef.

Nice looking rig! Looks just like my Win 70 Fw 30-06 with the Zeiss!

I'm now trying to decide whether to pick up one of these same scopes for a Cooper Jackson Game 280AI I have on order or get one of the new HD5 ones. Mainly a question of whether I want a bit more magnification or not for a western hunt some day. Highly doubt I'll ever shoot much past 300m. 400m would be a stretch.

I bought the zeiss 2 days ago at ISG in Vancouver and put it on my tikka t3 stainless. After I bought mine they only had 4 left. They're on sale until they're gone.

I've got three Zeiss conquest 3-9x40 on Sako's 30-06 when hunting with my 2 sons everybody can grab either gun and are familiar with how to operate it. Fast focus feature allows me to set white dot on eye piece to 9 o'clock position for perfect focus and boys have theirs set at 12.

A 3-9 would work well, but the HD5 2-10 would offer more magnification at the top end, and more field of view at the bottom end. It's a matter of how much money you are willing to spend.

So my luck...ordered one these and it shows up with a fleck of black junk in the scope....very obvious fleck of black plastic or paint or something. Well, I guess I get to find out what the warranty is like. ISG is looking into looking after the shipping but very unfortunate...not their fault. Anyone have experience with Zeiss / Gentec?

My first Conquest had the same thing. I guess it was a manufacturing fault with low serial numbered conquests. They did a direct swap for a new one and I was good to go.

Thanks,
Cal.

It may be a bit early but how was your experience with the defective scope?

Same thing here. I bought 5 of the 6.5-20x 50mm. One had a black fleck in it. Instant exchange at the store. That was about 5 years ago. Love these scopes.

Just had a look at that rapid z reticle... good lord I want one.

I like but if I had to do it again, I would buy the normal reticle for almost 200$ less. I never used it in hunting situation (always killed my deers within 100 yards) and the parallax is set at 300 yards, not 100 yards...
By the way, I think the 3x9x40 conquest with rapid-z reticle models are discontinued...

Exactly where did you find information stating that the parallax on the 3-9x40 Conquest with Rapid-Z reticles is set at 300 yards?

On the scope...
Don't know if the parallax on the actual only conquest model with the rapid-z reticle (HD5 2x10x42) still set at 300yards. It is not mentioned in the technical data for that scope on Zeiss web page...
