Not sure if you were looking at picking one up online, but Zeiss North America does not cover warranty work for products NOT purchased through an authorized dealer.

No Lifetime Warranty. Products purchased from unauthorized dealers offer only a limited European warranty that can be for as little as 5 years. Only products purchased from an Authorized Zeiss North America Dealer carry the standard North America Lifetime Transferable Warranty. ***Not all products qualify for the Lifetime Transferable Warranty. Please see our Warranty page for more information. ***

No warranty repair in the United States. Zeiss North America will not service any warranty repairs of products purchased through unauthorized dealers. The consumer will be required to send this product directly to Germany for service. Expected turnaround time is 6-12 weeks compared to 24 business hours on most products in the United States.

No Quality Assurance. Improper product handling can lead to such problems as scratches, mold collecting, etc. on the product due to improper storage. Unless purchased from an Authorized Zeiss North America Dealer, you cannot ensure the proper handling, shipping, and warehousing of your purchase.
Unnecessary Additional Costs. Unauthorized dealers may attempt to sell factory-applied coatings (i.e. T* multi-layer anti-reflective coating) at an additional cost to you. This is a deception—these coatings are standard on Zeiss products.

No Packaged Accessories. Binocular straps, cases, and rainguards are typically not included with unauthorized Zeiss products and are often offered at an additional cost to you. Note, these accessories are no charge standard offerings with appropriate products when purchased through an Authorized Zeiss North America Dealer.

Just something for you to consider.

As long as it has the Zeiss USA warranty card in the box it is covered in North America. You'll usually see the "Authorized Dealer" tape on the box as well.

If it's something that's used get the serial # and call Zeiss they'll tell you right away.

Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40, birghter than leupold but...King Optics Canada, about half the price of the Zeiss, lifetime warranty and glass on par with the Zeiss. I have had them side by side and had all my buddies etc look to compare and 2 said they were equal, the other 5 chose the King. Might be worth checking out.

I have owned two Zeiss Conquest scopes and a few Leupold VXIII scopes and my personal preference goes to the Zeiss. brighter crisper picture.
Either way between the Zeiss and VX III they are both top notch.
If you are comparing to a lesser Leupold like a VXII or VXI then dont waste your money go with the Zeiss.

I have 2 Zeiss scopes. A 3-9x40 and a 3-9x50, both Conquest MC. I also have Leupold VX III and Vari X III scopes. I`d say that the Zeiss have an edge over the Leupolds both in clarity and light gathering. I`d spend the extra $100 odd bucks and go with a Zeiss Conquest. If your pockets are deeper than that move up to the Zeiss VM/V Series;)

I don't have either, but I'm a couple of weeks away from getting a Conquest. I was pretty much ready to get a Leupold, but I did a some googling, and found a lot of posts in a lot of different hunting forums comparing the two. (This about how many times "Scope X vs. Scope Y" gets asked here, then multiply that by the number of hunting and shooting forums there are in the US and Canada.)

I'd say, from my research, at least 8 out of 10 people who have both scopes like the Conquest better then the VXIII. Probably similar numbers from people who have used both or even just looked through both at twilight.
