I have always heard and been under the impression that Zeiss Conquest's have constant eye relief. I have one and feel as though it doesn't change. Was looking at a Zeiss Terra today and mentioned that it did. The guy behind the counter, argued that they all change eye relief. Am I out to lunch?

Many scopes, including the Zeiss Conquest, have an almost constant eye relief as the magnification in changed. The eye relief may change very slightly, as in 1/8" or so, but nothing like some scopes, most notably some Leupolds where the eye relief changes by over 1".

My observations as well. I have 4 Zeiss Conquest scopes and they are all very consistent with respect to constant eye relief.

What makes you think the guy behind the counter is an expert, he makes what/per hour, and has been there how long??????
Zeiss are VG scopes for the $$$.

I didn't think he was an expert. Thought he was a know it all ass really, especially when the guy had to suggest he had been around a lot longer than I. I was 99% sure I was right but didn't want to assume. :)

I was in Wholesale Calgary two days ago, asked for a base for my Marlin 1894 in .44 mag. The 20-something know it all at the counter tells me he doesn't think I need to scope a lever action, why would I want to do that?

Every time I go in there, I dislike it just a little bit more.

Naturally, they didn't have what I needed in stock. :kickInTheNuts:

Found it at BPS on the way home. Sorry for the derail.

Nope, small shop in a small town in Northern Alberta. :)

I'm going to rant a little here with your story as the catalyst.

If anyone from WSS or anyone else who works at a LGS is on this forum here's some savvy advice. When a customer asks for an item such as a mount like bassman above asked for. GET THE F**KING PRODUCT AND SHUT YOUR F**KING MOUTH! No one asked for your opinion nor does anyone want to hear it. A specific product REQUEST is just that, so stop d*ck measuring and find the item.

If you go to WSS in Calgary I suggest dealing with one of two gentlemen(hopefully they don't mind me outing them). Those two would be Brent or Denis. The rest there are sharing the same low double digit IQ and are too busy throwing faeces at one another to bother serving a customer.

Ok, rant over thanks. :)

TDC, if there was a rep machine on this board, you would earn a lot for this spot on post.
