Thinking of buying one and looking for first hand experience with this specific spotter, feedback, pros and cons, etc.

Anybody owns one?

Main use will be glassing while hunting and a bit of range time.

I have one and like it. The front focus takes a bit of getting used to and I’m not a huge fan of the ocular lens cover as it’s hard to remove quickly. Other than that it’s all good. Also note that they are made in Japan, not Germany.

Thanks for your input, that's the kind of feedback I'm looking for. I had read about the glass being made in Japan. I'm looking for a rugged and compact spotter for hunting but also for target shooting up to 500 or 600 yards as well.

At first I was looking at Swarovski and Optolyth collapsible spotting scopes but I'm old school and prefer a sealed optic which is gas filled. Too afraid that moisture and dust will eventually get in there.

Did another guided, fly in, horseback elk hunt this year.

I like watching what the guides use, and listening to what they say.
As they circulate between western Canada, New Zealand, and Africa.

This year many were using top end vortex.

I need a spotter also.
Mine died.
Do not buy pentax…

Am looking for black Friday or boxing day sales on an upper end spotter.

gun nutz needs a thread for "great deals"

The Dialyt would be great for carrying around, but I’m not sure I would take it sheep hunting because of the straight eye-piece.

Consider the Kowa TSN-553
