Zeiss terra - good, bad, or ugly?

So they have been out for awhile now - what's the consensus? How are they, and how do they compare go other scopes in the same price bracket?

I'm happy with mine, but I'm no expert on optics. The dials have crisp adjustments, and the glass is clear to my eye. I know some people on here have had issues though.

When I was researching Zeiss scopes for a bolt action 7mm, i was told the lowest level Zeiss one should get was the Conquest ( non-HD) so that's what I went with. I believe the Terra has replaced the non HD Conquest as the entry level Zeiss rifle scope.

I'm happy with mine - it's mounted on a K31 so the shells hit the bottom of the scope and it keeps zero and is nice and clear. I was planning on mounting it to my 7mm

Put a 3-9 Terra on my 7-08 to replace a Leupold rifleman 3-9x50... The zeiss is nice.

It is not as good as the Conquest which it replaced, also the Terra is an OEM scope made in Japan for Zeiss where as the Conquest was assembled in the US from Zeiss components. I believe Cabella's is still selling the older Conquest scopes.

Sold two of them and went back to Leupold VX-2's and 3's... hard to go wrong with a Leupy...
