Zeiss vs. Leupold. can i have your $0.02?

3 of us were shooting at the range one evening as dusk was approaching and I was marvelling at how clear my VX_III was in low light conditions.

My friend said here ,check out his Zeiss 4.5-14X, wow, it was much brighter and clearer in poor light than my leupy.

My next scope is a Zeiss and I have 5 leupolds now, my loyalty to leupold is over.

Just purchased a new Tikka T3 chambered in 30-06 to be used for hunting. i think i've narrowed my choices for a scope down to a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x50 and a Leupold VXIII 3.5-10x50 both are around the $780 mark. comments/suggestions? what would you choose and why? thanks

Man Leupold is the only way to go you can't compete with Leupold warrenty and it will hold good value because of it . I have had and shot both scopes
Leupold is the way to go .

I own both, and I like them both...

My .308 target gun has a Leupold Mk 4, and I have one Leupold and one Zeiss Conquest on my hunting rifles. (Have a Nikon on another) All very comparable in quality and workmanship IMHO. To step up from there, I think you'd be spending some REALLY big coin.
My Conquest has the Rapid-Z [R-600] reticle though, which is a little bit more than the standard reticles. Highly recommend the rapid z reticles for hunting! They are excellent.
