I would like to get A new longe range scope somthing around 10-25X who make the better scope ? leiss or leupold my I decited it would be a A mark4 or Conquest 6.5-20x50 Any thoughts ?

I agree with tripalm - Zeiss scopes are simply awesome. Even the cheaper Conquests are excellent. But Leupold makes great scopes too and are generally a bit less money, and the customer service and warranty are unbeatable.

My Conquest cost less than my VX111s. Optically they are close, the Diavari tramps on a VX111 but a Conquest doesn't. Mark 4s are better than VX111s as well.
I've got two Mark 4s, a 6.5-20and a 8.5-25, I'd go with the 8.5-25 out of those two. Normally I'd say that the Leupold can be mounted lower, but that won't apply to these 50mm scopes. The speed focus on a Zeiss is a nice feature on high powered variables.

What caliber is it going on?

The longrange, big bore crowd seems to be largely split between Mark 4s and Nightforce. Zeiss doen't seem to get mentioned all that much. My .338 Edge has a a 8.5-25 Mark 4, 3 friends with the same caliber run Mark 4s, though one has since switched to Nightforce on that specific rifle. Much of that was because he got a smoking deal on the NF.

gumpers,

I think you're comparing apples and oranges a bit. The conquest series is sort of the mid-range hunting line from Zeiss, whereas the Mark 4's are Leupolds "tactical" line. If you're considering Zeiss, might be better to look at their Optronics line for comparison to the Mark 4's (see here). I know "The Shooting Edge" sells them.

I wouldn't go with the Conquest for this application. You're too limited by the MOA. The Conquest is a great varmint scope. Better than the Leupold for less money in my opinion. I love the Rapid Z reticle. That being said for a serious precision rig I would go with the NF. Even the Leupold would be a better option than the Conquest for this application.

Another consideration is the Sightron SIII in 8-32x. I may end up getting one in the near future. I'm just hoping they'll add some better reticles soon.

Mark 4's and Nightforce are downright cheap compared to the Zeiss Optronics scopes. But it would be interesting to compare them side by side.
