Have a Russian 1954 Tula in my collection and finally am going to zero the thing in. Have a sight adjustment tool and was just wondering what is the best distance to zero it at would be? 95% of my shooting will be 100 yards or less with milsurp ammo. Let me know what you think the best zero range for me and my needs would be. Thanks Gunnutz!

I would adjust the front sight so it hits point of aim at 100 yards with rear sight set to 100.

However, I would probably fire the first shots at 25 to make a crude adjustment so it would be on paper at 100. At 25 I would want the wind adjustment to be close to bang on, and would want the elevation to be an inch or two low.

I shot mine earlier today with just the iron sights and put the first round right in the bullseye and a couple more within an 1 1/2" just the way it came from the store. It was a lot better than I expected.
