Zeroing a leupold B&C reticle

I really wanted a B&C reticle, but just couldn't justify it over the Duplex with CDS and saving 100 bucks.

The Duplex is simple if you are satisfied with MPBR at whatever your chosen radius is... but for quick field shooting, the B&C really works and simplifies what can be a busy, adrenaline charged moment in time... think about the time and investment that was required to get you to that moment... $100 looks like a pretty good investment, even if it comes into play in one out of ten of those scenarios.

I guess I look at it from the perspective that on a long shot I'm going to have to figure out the range with either option. With the CDS, I just click-click-click and hold dead on rather than having to worry about using the wrong hold over. In my (much less educated than yours) opinion it's kind of a 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other proposition.

That being said, I'll still probably end up with a B&C reticle or 2 eventually anyways. There are too many people who's opinions I hold in high regard that have a lot of good things to say about them.

Once you have it basically sighted in, a little judicious tweaking may be in order. Say you’re GTG with a 200-500 yard setup but you're finding that you are 1/2 or 3/4 MOA low at 500. Its better to take those clicks at 500, because its starting to get sloppy at 500, being 1 - 1 1/2” high at 200 means little. What little it does mean is in your favour from a MPBR point of view.

I sight mine in at 100 or 200 yards depending on the cartridge, slower ones get 100 yards. Knowing my drops in moa I mark a target at those spacings place it at 100 yards then turn the zoom up/down to line up the reticle with the marks on the target. I put a small dot of whiteout on the power ring so I can set it back in the field quickly. Works very well.

I have one B&C in gunmetal grey that I'm sure needs work. I have zero experience with this reticle system. Trying to zero the scope at 100 yds, at 9x, I get a hazy, double image. I doubt this is intended. Should Korth have a look?
