Zev OZ9 vs. Sig P320 X5 Legion for Production Optics

Weight has nothing to do with being an accurate and quick shooter.
You do not need a heavy gun to be better.

Oz9 is a fantastic gun. Esp if your used to 2011's.
Sig is a fantastic and cheap gun.
The cost of the gun will be marginal in comparison to the cost of ammo, so buy what you want.

I shot the 0z9 at nationals for 120rounds. Fantastic. Love it.
Ended up buying a sig which i now use for carry optics for u.s. and thatll be the next div after my worlds run.
I bought the legion for the price point combining with uncertainty if i wanted to stay in the division.

Ammo costs are outside of the realm of this discussion- I’ve got a 650XL and am only limited by time to reload and practice.

I’m purely interested in which is a better platform for PO. Cost matters, but it’s not going to be the sole factor. I already have a holster, hanger, belt, and mag carrier setup for a Glock, so I’d have to buy at least a holster if I went Sig over the Zev.

I have out about 700 rounds through my Oz9 and just love how it shoots. Every time I go fast on the trigger it wants to shoot flatter and flatter. They early versions have a recall for the triggers so even though I haven't had a single issue, I took them up on the few upgrades. In dealing with Zev as well as their Canadian distributor Millbrook tactical, it has been a delightful experience. All shipping covered, quick responses through email and the ability to talk to knowledge people over the phone without jumping through hoops. I fully recommend the oz9 to anyone. Plus, g17 holsters work great, g34 holster if you use their compensator.

Easy pistol to manipulate, flat shooter, beautiful stock trigger, quick field strip and cleaning is a breeze with it as the whole trigger mechanism comes out with the steel reciever with the push of a single pin.

Here is something to think about. If you are serious about IPSC, get a second gun. Shoot both (a lot), you will find the one you like more, make that your match gun. The other one is your practice gun.

For the price of one zev, you can get 2 320 x-5 legions.

And yes, you do want a heavy gun...

I wouldn't recommend practicing with a different gun than you shoot matches with. I do agree with the heavier gun.

I'd take the 320 Legion over the Zev any day. twice the gun. The Zev is all flash and name, that's it.

The only thing that I didn't like about the legend is the mag release is far to reach and needs an extension. If you have shorter thumbs like me you'll have a hard time. Sig really needs to come out with a extended mag release that also extends back as well as out.

I had both. I felt for the way I shoot and my hands the 0z9 fits better for me. Sold my 320, didn’t look back. I did the trigger recall, and had my gun back within the week. I have the rmr on it, and it shoots flat. Looks and feels great!!!
